Ways to Give
Every gift to the Montessori School of Louisville is greatly appreciated and contributes directly to the educational experience provided to our students. Our school is a child centered learning environment based on the timeless philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori over 100 years ago. The Montessori approach is designed to inspire the child’s love of learning, develop each child’s unique potential, and empower them to actively engage in our community. Your gift, of any size, immediately impacts the important work we do.
All of our outcomes are made possible through two primary sources of revenue: tuition and fees and contributed income. Thanks to sound sustainable business practices, tuition and fees consistently cover 80% of the costs associated with delivering a high quality education for our students. We rely upon our generous community of parents, grandparents, friends and community partners to provide support that meets our remaining need.
Montessori School of Louisville also treasures the time and talent within our community. Parents are provided opportunities to donate their time and talent in many ways: volunteering with material making, or serving on a committee, room advisor, field trip chaperone, reading volunteer, and more. We believe “it takes a village to raise a child” and welcome the partnership between home and school.
Unrestricted Annual Fund Support
MSL’s cornerstone fundraising initiative is the annual fund. Appeal from the Heart is MSL’s drive to solicit from each family whatever financial gift is feasible within its personal situation. Any contribution is meaningful. MSL is respectful of the fact that some families may not be able to contribute $250 throughout the year. That is why we encourage each family to reach out to relatives and friends who also have an interest in seeing MSL succeed. This may include grandparents, friends who are considering MSL as an option, corporate partners, or those who simply want to see the Louisville community thrive.
Your Annual Fund Gift makes a difference by supporting:
- our focus on academic distinction
- competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain the best possible faculty
- classrooms equipped with state-of-the art educational tools, from projection systems to language lab materials
- advanced technology initiatives at the school
- community service initiatives and programs
- professional development and leadership opportunities
- a vibrant, diverse community
- a beautiful campus and facilities
To diagram the impact of your generous support, contributions to the Annual Fund may achieve the following:
- $70 – Full cost of teaching one child for one day
- $140 – Covers the difference between tuition and full cost of each child’s education for two weeks
- $985 – Covers the School’s utility expenses for one month
- $2,520 – Covers the difference between tuition and full cost of each child’s education for one year
Montessori School of Louisville encourages Annual Fund (Appeal from the Heart) pledge commitments to support the fundraising activities of the school. Pledges to the Annual Fund must be paid by June 30th each year.

Building for the Future
A capital campaign is a special effort to raise funds for long-range purposes, such as building projects and endowment. This is distinct from our annual giving and school PTO fundraisers. MSL’s current students, as well as future students, benefit from capital campaigns. Donors should view their donations as an investment in MSL’s long term mission and vision. During the capital campaign, families are encouraged to continue to donate to the annual fund, the Appeal from the Heart, which supports ongoing academic programs at MSL.
Our capital campaign, Building for the Future, is an investment in our new school. Our new building and campus will give us a home in which to provide the best possible education for current and future generations of students.
Planned gifts recognize your belief in the future of Montessori School of Louisville and the desire to support Montessori education for future generations.
