Summer camp is designed to stimulate the imagination of our children. Our camps are designed to help our campers learn valuable life skills, strengthen creative talents, make new friends and discover new interests. Campers will participate in cooking lessons, arts & crafts, music, dance, sports, and in-house field trips. At the toddler and early childhood level, each week has a different theme. At the elementary level, students will participate in a Camp Invention program.

Camp Invention

Students will have the opportunity to experience different areas of interest at MSL during the summer months. Mornings are filled with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) based activities and Camp Invention curriculum. Afternoons will feature the Camp Invention Games module and a variety of curricular extensions.

Camp themes for this year include:

  • Launch- Launch participants will become do-it-yourself entrepreneurs who use duct tape to create and market products to sell. They will become acquainted with NASA engineers and embark on a mission to prepare a new planet for human life. They will use physics to boost their advantage as they build bubble-blasters, water rockets, and pulley systems. Campers will dissect appliances to investigate how machines work and use pieces, parts and recyclables to create their own inventions.
  • Innovate- The Innovate program will encourage campers to discover new sources of energy to help bring robotic creatures to life. Campers will take apart electronics to build and patent new inventions. They will investigate math concepts that involved little numeracy, while working with tessellations, fractals and angles, and their application to the real world.
